Her look which took over 20,000 hours to create beautifully blended Western fashion with traditional Indian craftsmanship.
Her dress featured a white embroidered corset decorated with pearls and golden thread. She paired it with black tailored trousers and a dramatic floor length cape. The cape had a handwoven Benarasi train and intricate Zardozi embroidery. This unique combination of elements reflected the theme of this year’s Met Gala—“Superfine: Tailoring Black Style.” It celebrated elegance inspired by the Black dandy style, and the dress code was “Tailored for You.”
Styled by Anaita Shroff Adajania, Isha's look stood out not just for the outfit but also for the rich accessories. She wore a vintage Cartier diamond necklace from her personal collection. The necklace originally belonged to the Maharaja of Nawanagar and featured 89 stones weighing over 480 carats. One of the main highlights was an 80.73-carat cushion-cut diamond.
Isha added more sparkle with diamond buttons on her cape and a diamond hip ornament. She wore pearl-studded bird hairpins, Tiffany & Co. bird rings and a peacock-shaped hair clip—all chosen to reflect Indian royal heritage. Her makeup was subtle with rose-brown lips and smoky eyes. Her hair was styled neatly in a braid completing the elegant yet powerful look.
This year’s Met Gala saw many celebrities embrace the theme with tailored suits and bold designs. Yet, Isha Ambani’s look was unique. It merged global fashion trends with deep Indian traditions. The attention to detail from the hand embroidery to historic jewellery highlighted the rich cultural heritage of India on a global stage.
