The shore city of Chennai was hit hard by a strong cyclone and everything came to a standstill. Due to the heavy downpour, the streets were filled with water, and even the vehicles were washed away. Even the apartments were not spared as the areas were filled with water.

The cyclone named Michaung left a devastating impact on the city. The rainwater also entered Airport premises creating a lot of trouble. Public life was also disrupted. Roads were filled with water to the point that even the buses could not move freely.

Police and other personnel swung into action and hit the roads for the rescue operations who were helping in the free movement of vehicles. Even the lakes were breached leading to heavy waterlogging on the roads.

People living in low-lying areas are said to be facing a lot of issues compared to people from higher ground who have an advantage. The heavy downpour also left the farmlands submerged in water.

Many colonies are covered in water pushing the people to stay in their houses as a safety measure. Experts say that Chennai has not seen downpours at that level in recent times. No words can describe the plight of the people living in the cyclone-hit areas.

Since the early hours of Monday, the city has been seeing heavy downpours. The situation in many areas changed in a few hours. While the weather experts predicted that there would be heavy rain. The rain exceeded the predictions, experts say.
