In 2016, Fatima gained widespread recognition for portraying wrestler Geeta Phogat in the sports drama Dangal. Fatima appeared in Thugs of Hindostan (2018), sharing the screen with industry veterans. She continued to explore diverse roles in projects like Ludo (2020), Ajeeb Daastaans (2021) and Modern Love Mumbai (2022). In 2023, she portrayed former Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in the biographical drama Sam Bahadur.
