She began her journey as a child artist and has grown into a recognized face across South Indian cinema.
She made her movie debut in the 2010 Malayalam film Nallavan. Her breakthrough came with the role of Anumol “Anu” George in Jeethu Joseph’s critically acclaimed Drishyam (2013). She reprised the character in the Telugu remake Drushyam (2014), the Tamil Papanasam (2015), and the sequels Drishyam 2 and Drushyam 2 (2021). Other notable works include Olu (as the titular character), Johaar (Telugu lead), Jack N’ Jill, Vindhya Victim Verdict V3, and Minmini (2024).
Esther has also hosted television shows such as Top Singer and received the Kerala Film Critics Association Award for Best Child Artist. Her recent release includes Shanthamee Rathriyil (2025). Ongoing projects feature the highly anticipated Drishyam 3 (2026), where she returns as Anu, along with other upcoming titles.With a career spanning over a decade and a transition from child roles to more mature characters, Esther Anil remains a promising talent in Malayalam and beyond.
