Born on 10 September 1989 in Dubai to Malayali parents, Catherine Tresa began as a model before entering films. She made her acting debut in 2010 with the Kannada film Shankar IPS as Shilpa, followed the same year by the Malayalam thriller The Thriller.
She built a versatile career across South Indian cinema. Notable early roles include the Kannada film Godfather (2012). Her Telugu entry came with Chammak Challo (2013) and Iddarammayilatho. The 2014 Tamil film Madras, where she played Kalaiarasi opposite Karthi, marked her breakthrough and earned her multiple Best Debut Actress awards, including Filmfare South and SIIMA.
Later highlights include Sarrainodu (2016), Nene Raju Nene Mantri (2017), Kalakalappu 2 (2018), Waltair Veerayya (2023), and others. Ongoing and recent projects feature her as Sujitha in the Tamil film Gangers (2025) and Jwaala in the Telugu film Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu (2026), along with Phani. From modeling roots to a steady presence in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam cinema, Catherine continues to take on diverse roles.
