Avantika Vandanapu, an actor who began her career in Tollywood, recently made waves with her role in the 2024 reboot of Tina Fey's iconic movie, Mean Girls. Starting with the 2016 Telugu film Brahmotsavam alongside Mahesh Babu, Avantika has come a long way in the industry.

Her Instagram photos have garnered attention, showcasing her versatile style, from a dark background with a flower choker to a green coat paired with frilled pants, curly hair, and a sleek gold chain choker.

In a recent interview with Wonderland, Avantika expressed her excitement about reprising the role of Karen Shetty in Mean Girls, highlighting the significance of South Asian representation in such narratives. She discussed her journey, including juggling work during her freshman year, battling imposter syndrome, and her passion for producing, writing, dancing, and singing.

Mean Girls, released on January 9 in the US, features Avantika as Karen Shetty, a nod to the original character from the 2004 film. The movie, also starring Angourie Rice, Reneé Rapp, Auliʻi Cravalho, and Christopher Briney, draws inspiration not only from Tina Fey's work but also the book "Queen Bees and Wannabes" by Rosalind Wiseman.

While the film is yet to hit Indian screens, Avantika has other projects in the pipeline, including a horror film called Tarot and a Prime Video show titled BGDC.
