This serene photo moment comes just as Anupama gears up for a major return to Malayalam cinema with the film “Janaki vs State of Kerala (JSK)”, alongside veteran actor Suresh Gopi. Known for her breakout role in the cult hit Premam, Anupama has since made a strong mark in the Telugu industry with films like Karthikeya 2, Rakshasudu, Dragon, and Tillu Square.

At the audio launch of JSK in Kochi, Anupama shared an emotional reflection on her journey. "A lot of people have trolled me, saying that I can’t act," she said candidly. "Irrespective of all of that, this film’s director cast me as the lead character. This movie has a heart and it is Janaki, and thank you for entrusting me with her."

She revealed how the pandemic transformed her perspective: “I decided I will only commit to movies that excite me in Malayalam. I’m thankful to everyone – those who supported me and those who hated me – for making me who I am today.”

Veteran actor Suresh Gopi backed her, comparing her journey to stars like Asin and Nayanthara, who overcame initial criticism to become icons. He predicted that directors who once ignored Anupama would soon seek her dates.
