Anupama Parameswaran Turns Heads in Traditional Elegance

Anupama Parameswaran is ready to shine again in Malayalam cinema with her new film Janaki vs State of Kerala. After making a strong impression in Telugu films like Dragon and Tillu Square, she is now returning to her roots. Although her debut in Premam with Nivin Pauly was a massive success, she appeared in only a few Malayalam films over the last ten years. Now, she takes the lead role in director Pravin Narayanan’s upcoming film and seems excited about the fresh chapter.

Speaking at the film’s audio launch in Kochi, she shared, “A lot of people have trolled me, saying that I can’t act. Irrespective of all of that, this film’s director cast me as the lead character. This movie has a heart and it is Janaki, and thank you for entrusting me with her.”

She also reflected on her growth, saying, “I went through a huge transformation in my career and life during the COVID lockdown, and I immensely appreciate Pravin for showing faith in me, to pull off such a deep character.” She added, “The movie revolves around a strong female character, and I am thankful that Pravin trusted me with her. That in itself feels like an achievement.”
