Born in Sathupalli, Telangana, Ananya left her software engineering job to pursue acting. She made her movie debut in the critically acclaimed Telugu film Mallesham (2019), playing Padma and earning praise for her performance. She gained wider recognition with Vakeel Saab (2021) alongside Pawan Kalyan, followed by roles in Play Back (2021), Maestro, Malli Pelli (2023), Shaakuntalam (2023), Darling (2024), Tantra (2024) where she played the lead Rekha, and Pottel (2024) as Bujjamma, for which she won the Gaddar Telangana Film Award for Special Jury – Best Actress. She also appeared in Srikakulam Sherlock Holmes (2024) as Bhrama.

Her career is gaining strong momentum with women-centric and diverse roles. In 2026, she has two major releases: Lechindi Mahila Lokam (released March 2026, directed by Carthyk Arjun) and SYG - Sambarala Yeti Gattu (April 30, 2026). She is also reportedly preparing for her Hindi film debut. With consistent performances and growing lead roles, Ananya Nagalla is steadily carving a promising space in the South Indian film industry.
