Akansha Ranjan Kapoor, who has impressed viewers with her role in Gram Chikitsalay, recently opened up about a bitter experience from her acting journey. Despite being known as Alia Bhatt’s close friend and sister to actress Anushka Ranjan, Akansha has always worked hard to build her own identity in the industry.

In an interview, she shared how a casting director once dismissed her for the role in Gram Chikitsalay. She recalled, “I bumped into a casting director who said, ‘Who cast you for this? I wouldn’t have even thought of you for such a role.’” The comment left her shocked, but she is now glad that the audience and others have appreciated her performance.

Akansha’s career mainly includes OTT projects. She has appeared in Guilty alongside Kiara Advani, Ray featuring Ali Fazal, and Monica, O My Darling with Rajkummar Rao. Though she hasn’t yet entered the theatrical film space, her performances on digital platforms have gained her attention.

Gram Chikitsalay is a rural drama from the creators of Panchayat. The story revolves around a doctor working in a remote village who faces unusual challenges from reaching his clinic to finding patients. The show ends on a suspenseful note leaving fans excited for the next season.
