Akansha Ranjan Kapoor, who has impressed viewers with her role in Gram Chikitsalay, recently opened up about a bitter experience from her acting journey. Despite being known as Alia Bhatt�s close friend and sister to actress Anushka Ranjan, Akansha has always worked hard to build her own identity in the industry.

In an interview, she shared how a casting director once dismissed her for the role in Gram Chikitsalay. She recalled, �I bumped into a casting director who said, �Who cast you for this? I wouldn�t have even thought of you for such a role.�� The comment left her shocked, but she is now glad that the audience and others have appreciated her performance.

Akansha�s career mainly includes OTT projects. She has appeared in Guilty alongside Kiara Advani, Ray featuring Ali Fazal, and Monica, O My Darling with Rajkummar Rao. Though she hasn�t yet entered the theatrical film space, her performances on digital platforms have gained her attention.

Gram Chikitsalay is a rural drama from the creators of Panchayat. The story revolves around a doctor working in a remote village who faces unusual challenges from reaching his clinic to finding patients. The show ends on a suspenseful note leaving fans excited for the next season.
