Remember the look of Amitabh Bachchan in 'Deewar' which went on to become a smash hit. Big B was spotted in a green denim shirt leaving the last two buttons and folding the shirt, apart from a rope on his shoulder.
In fact, The tailor has committed a mistake that proved lucky in the end. He accidentally came up with a lengthy shirt and because of that Amitabh has folded it. This rough and tough look became a rage in the 70s.
Amitabh Bachchan: "Sometimes the most recognised aspect finds its way in the most unrecognised manner !! Shall explain later. The knotted shirt and rope on shoulder in 'Deewar' was an adjustment for an error in stiching .. shirt too long so knotted it .. !!".
'Deewar' is a satire on politics. The film also stars Shashi Kapoor, Parveen Bhabhi and Neetu Singh.
