Plagiarism charges in Tollywood are not really new. In fact when it comes to filmmaking in India, plagiarism is not seen as a crime at all. Recently Chiranjeevi’s prestigious 150 th film faced troubles with plagiarism charges when a budding writer claimed that the story of film has been copied from his Okka Adugu story (He claims to have prepared it for Prabhas).
Earlier also many Telugu writers have come out in open to claim that the plot of a particular film was their brainchild. Media is also giving more importance to air this because the bigger the issue becomes they will get higher TRP out of it.
Now some of the cine analysts are coming up with an advice to the new story writers. When someone has got an idea on story line and if it is about to be narrated to someone the writer can register the story by paying mere amount of Rs 100 at Telugu film writers association. It will go on record along with date.
Maximum a writer has to pay is Rs 1200 because the fee is based on the number of pages being registered at the association. So we wish the budding writers follow this small rule to escape last minute hassle.
