Gang-rape victim cremated in Delhi

"The body arrived this morning and the cremation has been done," a home ministry spokesperson said but refused to divulge more details.
Officials in the ministry said the body arrived here at 3.30 a.m.
The woman's body was embalmed after a post-mortem and placed in a special casket before being flown to India in a chartered Air India aircraft. Parents of the woman were accompanying the body.
The woman was tortured and gang-raped by six men in the national capital Dec 16. She was undergoing treatment at Safdarjung Hospital before being flown to a Singapore hospital for treatment when her condition deteriorated. She died Saturday.
