New Zealand enters semi finals in a big way

New Zealand is the last team to enter world cup semi finals. The blackcaps beat West Indies by 143 runs.New Zealand reached the World Cup semi-finals for the seventh time and will face South Africa in Auckland.Other side  West Indies haven’t reached the semifinals since 1996.After electing toss New Zeland opted to bat first and scored mammoth 393 runs.

Martin Guptill scored swashbuckling 237 runs..Guptill scored his runs off 163 balls, becoming the first New Zealander to post a double century in ODIs and the fifth in the world. He was unbeaten when the innings ended.

Guptill’s innings, compiled from 163 balls and including 11 sixes and 24 fours, was the highest by an individual in a World Cup match.Chasing big target  West Indies got all out for 250 in 30.3 overs . Now Newzelnd will play semi finals with South Africa at Auckland on March 24.

Defending champions India will take on co-hosts Australia in the other semi-final at the Sydney Cricket Ground on March 26. The final will be played at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on March 29
