At the same time, Tamannaah Bhatia has also been in the news because of a legal case involving Power Soaps Limited. The Madras High Court recently dismissed her appeal related to the matter.
Tamannaah had approached the court seeking Rs 1 crore as compensation. She claimed that Power Soaps Limited continued using her pictures even after her endorsement agreement with the company had ended.
As per the details presented in court, Tamannaah signed an agreement with the company on October 7, 2008. The contract was valid until October 6, 2009. However, Tamannaah stated that the company allegedly continued using her images on soap wrappers during November 2010 and February 2011.
She also said that when she was in talks with another brand during 2010, she came to know about the continued use of her photographs. Tamannaah claimed notices were sent to the company and its advertising agency, J&D Communication Private Limited, in January and February 2011.
According to her allegations, the replies she received were not satisfactory. Because of this, she filed a case asking for Rs 1 crore compensation for unauthorized use of her pictures.
However, the Madras High Court division bench, including Justice P Velmurugan and Justice K Govindarajan Thilakavadi, dismissed her appeal and confirmed the earlier single judge order.
