Suma made her feature film debut in Dasari Narayana Rao’s 1996 Telugu movie Kalyana Praapthirasthu, alongside early Malayalam feature appearances in Newspaper Boy and Ishtadanam.

While she became the undisputed queen of Telugu television by hosting iconic shows like Star Mahila and Cash, she has also carved out a rich supporting filmography with appearances in Varsham, Dhee, and Baadshah. She returned to a leading feature role in the 2022 rural drama Jayamma Panchayathi.
