Sreemukhi began her career as a popular television host and anchor. She made her film debut with a supporting role in the 2012 Telugu blockbuster Julai (alongside Allu Arjun). She essayed her first lead role in Prema Ishq Kaadhal (2013) and went on to appear in several films including Nenu Sailaja, Chandrika, and Gentleman.

Known for her bubbly personality and versatility, Sreemukhi has balanced acting with hosting duties on popular Telugu TV shows. She gained further fame as a contestant and first runner-up on Bigg Boss Telugu Season 3.
