Born on 16 August 1989, Sonam Bajwa first gained attention as a Femina Miss India 2012 contestant before making her acting debut in the Punjabi film Best of Luck (2013). She quickly rose to become one of the highest-paid and most popular actresses in Punjabi cinema with hits like Punjab 1984, Nikka Zaildar, Carry on Jatta 2, Ardab Mutiyaran (for which she won Best Actress), Honsla Rakh, and Godday Godday Chaa.

She has also worked in Tamil (Kappal) and Telugu (Aatadukundam Raa) films. In 2025 she expanded into Hindi cinema with Housefull 5 and Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat, followed by Baaghi 4. Recent and ongoing projects include Border 2 and Pitt Siyapa (2026).
