While Sonam continues to trend on social media, her professional journey is moving strongly ahead. After ruling Punjabi cinema for years, she took a bold step into Bollywood. The year 2025 turned out to be very special for her as she appeared in three Hindi films. Among them, Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat brought her wide appreciation and audience love.
Sonam also shared a memorable experience linked to the film. She revealed that she and Harshvardhan Rane secretly visited a theatre to watch audience reactions. Wearing a burqa to avoid attention, she experienced raw and honest responses from moviegoers. That moment, she said, will always stay close to her heart.
Looking ahead, Sonam will begin 2026 with a big release, Border 2. The film holds emotional value for her as she grew up watching the original Border. Working again with director Anurag Singh and actor Diljit Dosanjh makes the project even more special for her. Sonam has described her time on set as emotional and unforgettable, especially when iconic music played during shoots.
Even after shifting focus to Bollywood, Sonam has made it clear that Punjabi cinema will always remain close to her heart. She plans to continue doing at least one Punjabi film every year while primarily working in Hindi films.
Sonam also spoke about Punjabi actors gaining recognition across India. She expressed pride in seeing artists collaborate beyond regional boundaries, mentioning stars like Allu Arjun, Prabhas, and Kalki 2898 AD, along with Rishab Shetty in Kantara Chapter One.
