Born on August 16, 1989, in Uttarakhand, Sonam started as a model and Femina Miss India 2012 participant before making her acting debut with the Punjabi film Best of Luck (2013). She quickly rose to stardom in Pollywood with hits like Punjab 1984 (2014), Sardaar Ji 2 (2016), Nikka Zaildar series, Carry on Jatta 2 & 3, Manje Bistre, and Honsla Rakh.

She expanded her horizons with Tamil (Kappal) and Telugu films, and made her Bollywood entry in 2025 with Baaghi 4 and Housefull 5. In 2026, she delivered a strong performance in the blockbuster war drama Border 2 opposite Diljit Dosanjh.

Currently, all eyes are on her upcoming Punjabi comedy Pitt Siyapa, releasing in cinemas worldwide on 1st May 2026, where she plays the lead role of Nimmi.
