Born on 28 January 1986 to actors Kamal Haasan and Sarika, Shruti began as a child playback singer. She made her adult film debut in the Hindi movie Luck (2009). Her South Indian breakthrough came in 2011 with Anaganaga O Dheerudu (Telugu) and 7 Aum Arivu (Tamil), earning her the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut – South.

She rose to leading status with hits like Gabbar Singh, Race Gurram (Filmfare Best Actress – Telugu), Srimanthudu, Vedalam, Krack, Waltair Veerayya, and the blockbuster Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire (2023). In 2025 she starred as Preethi opposite Rajinikanth in Coolie. Upcoming projects include Train (Tamil), a special appearance in Peddi, Aakasamlo Oka Tara opposite Dulquer Salmaan, and Salaar: Part 2. A versatile actress and singer, Shruti continues to command the screen with style and substance.
