Born into a legendary film family as the daughter of Kamal Haasan and Sarika, Shruti made her adult acting debut in the Hindi film Luck (2009). She marked her Telugu debut with Anaganaga O Dheerudu and Tamil debut with 7aum Arivu (both 2011), earning the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut – South. Her breakthrough came with 3 (2012) opposite Dhanush, followed by Telugu hits like Gabbar Singh, Race Gurram (winning Filmfare Best Actress – Telugu), Srimanthudu, and Premam. She has balanced pan-Indian films, including Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire (2023) and Coolie (2025).

Currently, Shruti is busy with upcoming projects: Aakasamlo Oka Tara (Telugu, opposite Dulquer Salmaan, directed by Pavan Sadineni, slated for summer 2026 as a multi-lingual pan-Indian drama) and Salaar: Part 2 - Shouryanga Parvam (Telugu, releasing November 2026). She remains a dynamic force in South Indian cinema, blending acting prowess with her musical talents.
