Born on January 28, 1986, in Chennai to legendary actors Kamal Haasan and Sarika, Shruti began as a child singer at age six in Thevar Magan (1992). She appeared as a child artist in her father’s Hey Ram (2000). Her adult acting debut came in the Hindi thriller Luck (2009), where she played dual roles.

She made her Telugu debut with Anaganaga O Dheerudu and Tamil debut with 7aum Arivu (both 2011), winning the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut – South. Breakthrough successes followed with Gabbar Singh (2012), Race Gurram (2014, Filmfare Best Actress – Telugu), Srimanthudu, Vedalam, Krack (2021), Waltair Veerayya, and the blockbuster Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire (2023). In 2025 she starred opposite Rajinikanth in Coolie.

Ongoing projects include the Tamil film Train (post-production), Telugu Aakasamlo Oka Tara (filming with Dulquer Salmaan), Salaar: Part 2 – Shouryanga Parvam, and a special appearance in Peddi. A talented singer and composer as well, Shruti Haasan continues to balance commercial hits with versatile roles across languages.
