Born on December 10, 1996, in Bengaluru into a respected Kannada family, Rukmini is the daughter of Colonel Vasanth Venugopal (Ashoka Chakra awardee). She trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts (RADA) in London before making her film debut with the Kannada movie Birbal (2019).

Her breakthrough came with the critically acclaimed romantic drama Sapta Saagaradaache Ello (Sides A & B, 2023), earning her the Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actress – Kannada. She further impressed in Kantara: Chapter 1 (2025), which became one of her biggest commercial successes. Her filmography also includes Bhairathi Ranagal, Madharasi, and Ace.

Rukmini is currently riding high with major upcoming projects, including Toxic (2026) opposite Yash and a high-profile pan-Indian film with Jr. NTR directed by Prashanth Neel. She is also making strides into Telugu and Tamil cinema.
