One year of Kantara
What a life-changing, crazy, unforgettable ride this was. I still think about the time we spent making this film, from long days on set to incredible remote locations, the chaos, the laughter, the learning, and all the little moments in between that led to a film that I’ll always be proud of and grateful for.
Thank you to the entire team and to all of you for the endless love you’ve showered on us all.
Rukmini made her film debut in the Kannada thriller Birbal (2019). She rose to prominence with the two-part romantic drama Sapta Saagaradaache Ello (2023), earning the Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actress – Kannada. She later appeared in Bagheera, Bhairathi Ranagal, and her Telugu debut Appudo Ippudo Eppudo.
In 2025 she delivered a standout performance as Kanakavathi in the blockbuster Kantara: Chapter 1. Ongoing projects include the pan-India film Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups (2026) opposite Yash, Jr NTR’s Dragon, and her Malayalam debut NP51 with Nivin Pauly. Rukmini continues to shine as one of South India’s most promising talents.
