The Kannada actress made her film debut in 2019 with the crime thriller Birbal Trilogy. She rose to prominence with the two-part romantic drama Sapta Saagaradaache Ello: Side A and Side B (2023), earning the Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actress – Kannada for her powerful portrayal of Priya.

She followed it with strong turns in Bagheera and Bhairathi Ranagal (2024), made her Telugu debut with Appudo Ippudo Eppudo, and entered Tamil cinema through Ace and Madharaasi (2025). Her role as Kanakavathi in the blockbuster Kantara: Chapter 1 (2025) brought her widespread acclaim.

In 2026 she appeared as Mellisa in Yash’s Toxic. Upcoming projects include Dragon opposite Jr NTR, the Malayalam film NP51 with Nivin Pauly, and Mangala Gowri. With her selective choices and growing pan-Indian presence, Rukmini continues to make a mark.
