Actress Rukmini Maitra recently shared a striking set of photos on Instagram that quietly caught everyone’s attention. Posted from the profile name rukminimaitra, the image shows her standing confidently in an elegant traditional ensemble. The soft gold and pastel tones of her attire, paired with her calm yet strong posture, reflect a woman who is fully comfortable in her own skin. Along with the photo, she wrote a simple but powerful caption: “Dancing to my own tune, at my own party.”

Beyond glamour, Rukmini is currently being appreciated for choosing stories that are deeply emotional and honest. One such film is Haati Haati Paa Paa which has slowly but strongly made its mark among audiences.

In the film, she plays Madhura, a modern daughter who lives with her father. Their relationship is not perfect. They argue often, irritate each other, protect each other, and share a love that is not always spoken out loud. Her father’s character, played by Chiranjeet Chakraborty, brings a quiet vulnerability to the story. Rukmini’s performance stands out because it feels real and lived-in rather than dramatic.

What makes this role special is how ordinary it feels. Madhura is not shown as a flawless or endlessly patient daughter. She gets angry, scared, confused, and tired. Rukmini has shared that this honesty is what drew her to the character. She connected deeply with the fear of losing a. The film has drawn comparisons to Piku, mainly because it also focuses on a father-daughter bond.

After working on larger and more demanding projects like Binodiini – Ekti Natir Upakhyan, Rukmini found comfort in returning to a simple, present-day character. She has mentioned that she waited almost a year before saying yes to this film, as she chooses her scripts carefully. That patience paid off when the film premiered at IFFI Goa, marking an important milestone for Bengali cinema.
