Born in 1970, Ramya Krishnan made her acting debut with the Tamil film Vellai Manasu in 1985. Over a career spanning more than four decades and 200+ films across Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi cinema, she became a household name with powerful performances. Her portrayal of Rajamata Sivagami Devi in Baahubali: The Beginning (2015) and Baahubali 2 (2017) remains iconic.

In recent years she starred in Super Deluxe (2019), Jailer (2023) as Vijaya “Viji” Pandian opposite Rajinikanth, Guntur Kaaram (2024) and Jaat (2025). She is currently promoting Jailer 2, where she reprises her role as Viji, set for theatrical release on 15 October 2026. With her commanding screen presence and impeccable style, Ramya Krishnan continues to shine as one of Indian cinema’s most enduring stars.
