While fans admired this gentle post, another serious matter was unfolding in her life. Rakul Preet revealed that someone was misusing her name and pretending to be her online. She clearly stated that chatting with people using her name without permission is wrong and is a crime. This information appeared in a report under Hindustan Times News, written by Vishakha Pandit and updated on November 27, 2025.

According to Rakul, she came to know about the fake account only when her manager received screenshots of strange conversations. A photographer from Chennai, who had worked with her earlier, was contacted by someone acting like Rakul. The photographer became suspicious and checked with her team. After seeing the proof, Rakul understood the seriousness of the situation and decided to warn the public.

She shared her concern openly and said she felt worried because she did not know how many people were being contacted or what fake talks were happening in her name. She also confirmed that she is in the process of filing a cybercrime complaint so that proper action can be taken against the person responsible.

Rakul made it clear that while she understands fans using her photos as display pictures, pretending to be her and speaking to others as if they are her is unacceptable. She called such behaviour unethical and dangerous.
