Pragya Nayan Sinha was born on 17 August 1998 in Giridih, Jharkhand. Unlike many actresses, her journey into cinema did not begin directly with films. She has a strong academic background and completed both her undergraduate and postgraduate studies, including an M.Tech degree, from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani. Before entering the entertainment industry, she worked as an engineer at Wipro. Her shift from engineering to acting shows her courage to follow her passion.

She is an Indian actress and model who works mainly in Telugu and Kannada film industries. Pragya gained major recognition with the horror-thriller film Kalinga released in 2024, where she played the lead role. The film is currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video and Aha. Her performance was noticed by both audiences and critics. She also acted as Shilpa in Chakravyuham: The Trap, played the lead in Surapanam and appeared in the ETV Win web movie Matchfixing.
