Born on October 13, 1990, in Mumbai, Hegde began as a model and finished as second runner-up at the 2010 Miss Universe India pageant. She made her acting debut in the 2012 Tamil superhero film Mugamoodi, directed by Mysskin. Her Telugu entry came with Oka Laila Kosam (2014), followed by Mukunda.

She entered Hindi cinema with the period epic Mohenjo Daro (2016) opposite Hrithik Roshan. Hegde rose to prominence in Telugu films such as DJ: Duvvada Jagannadham, Aravinda Sametha Veera Raghava, Maharshi, and the blockbuster Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo (2020), which earned her a SIIMA Award for Best Actress – Telugu. Other notable works include Housefull 4, Beast, Radhe Shyam, Most Eligible Bachelor, and Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan.

In 2025 she appeared in Deva with Shahid Kapoor, Retro with Suriya, and a special role in Coolie. Ongoing projects include the comedy Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai opposite Varun Dhawan, the Tamil political drama Jana Nayagan with Vijay, the Telugu film Sri Sri, and Kanchana 4. Hegde continues to thrive as a pan-Indian star across industries.
