Born on 28 September 1985 in Cooch Behar, West Bengal, Mouni began her career on television in 2006 with Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. She became a household name playing Sati in Devon Ke Dev… Mahadev and soared to superstardom as the shape-shifting serpent in Naagin (2015).

She made her Bollywood debut in the 2018 period sports drama Gold opposite Akshay Kumar, earning a Filmfare nomination for Best Female Debut. Subsequent films include Romeo Akbar Walter, Made in China, and the fantasy blockbuster Brahmāstra: Part One – Shiva (2022), for which she won the IIFA Award for Best Supporting Actress.

Recent work features Blackout, Love Sex Aur Dhokha 2, The Bhootnii (2025), and the series Salakaar. Ongoing projects include David Dhawan’s comedy Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai (2026) with Varun Dhawan, a special appearance in the Telugu film Vishwambhara, The Wives, and Teesvi Manzil. With her seamless transition from television to films, Mouni continues to shine as a versatile and glamorous screen presence.
