On the occasion of the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Iron Man of India and the Architect of United India, the Hyderabad City Police organized a grand “Run for Unity” on October 31, 2025, as part of the nationwide celebration of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day).

The run was held at People’s Plaza, Necklace Road, and across seven police zones in the city. Around 5,000 citizens and runners participated enthusiastically, celebrating the spirit of national integration, unity, and security inspired by Sardar Patel’s monumental contribution to India’s unification.

Megastar Chiranjeevi graced the event as the Chief Guest, along with Mr. B. Shivadher Reddy, IPS (DGP, Telangana), Mr. V.C. Sajjanar, IPS (Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad), and several senior IPS officers including Mr. Tafseer Iqubal, Mr. Joel Davis, Ms. Shilpavalli K, Ms. Apoorva Rao, Ms. Dhara Kavitha, and Ms. Lavanya Naik Jadhav.

Speaking at the event, Chiranjeevi expressed his happiness at being part of this inspiring initiative. He lauded Sardar Patel’s unwavering vision and courage in uniting over 560 princely states to form one nation. “His life teaches us unity, strength, and patriotism,” Chiranjeevi said, adding that such events inspire today’s youth and future generations to value “Unity in Diversity.”

DGP B. Shivadher Reddy emphasized that the event symbolized more than a run — it represented a national spirit of solidarity. Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar urged the youth to follow Sardar Patel’s ideals and stay vigilant against cybercrimes and online frauds.

The Hyderabad City Police conducted the event with great enthusiasm and discipline, making it a memorable tribute to India’s unity and strength.
