In the caption, Manushi looked back at the year 2016, calling it a time when her life felt like a mix of studies and dreams, similar to the fictional character Hannah Montana. She revealed that she was still in college when she was first noticed for Miss India at AIIMS, New Delhi. She shared that her first photos for the Miss India entry form were taken casually on a Saturday, right after her classes ended.
Manushi also spoke about getting her first major brand campaign with Bose, which became a turning point in her journey. Along with her modeling career, she continued her medical education and even began clinical postings in general surgery. She added a light moment by saying that someone fainted on the first day, but clarified it was not her. She also joked about realizing that biochemistry was not her strongest subject, while crediting her parents for their support. Interestingly, she mentioned that she joined Instagram only for Miss India and never imagined it would still be a part of her life a decade later.
While this throwback post celebrated her early struggles, Manushi has also been in the news for a recent controversy. She appeared in the music video of singer Diljit Dosanjh’s song Kufar, which is part of his album Aura. Though the song was appreciated, one short scene showing a woman’s leg led to strong criticism online. Many viewers wrongly assumed that the shot belonged to Manushi and accused her of agreeing to what they called a vulgar scene.
Responding calmly, Manushi Chhillar addressed the issue on her X account. She clearly stated that the controversial shot was not hers. More importantly, she requested people not to insult the dancer who appeared in that frame, reminding everyone that the dancer was simply doing her job
