Born on August 4, 1993, in Kannur, Kerala, Malavika is the daughter of renowned cinematographer K.U. Mohanan. She made her acting debut in 2013 with the Malayalam film Pattam Pole opposite Dulquer Salmaan. She gained widespread acclaim for her powerful performance in Majid Majidi’s Hindi film Beyond the Clouds (2017) alongside Ishaan Khatter.

Malavika made her mark in Tamil cinema with films like Petta (2019) opposite Rajinikanth and Master (2021) alongside Vijay. She has delivered notable performances in Thangalaan with Vikram and the Malayalam film Hridayapoorvam (2025) with Mohanlal.

She is currently enjoying a strong phase with pan-Indian appeal. Her major upcoming projects include the much-awaited Telugu debut The RajaSaab opposite Prabhas (horror-comedy, 2026), the high-profile Tamil sequel Sardar 2 with Karthi, and Pocket Novel directed by Thiagarajan Kumararaja.
