Born in Jammu, Mahira began her career with a small role in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah before making her proper television debut as Shilpi in Y.A.R.O Ka Tashan (2016–2017). She gained wider attention with roles in Naagin 3 (2018) as Jaamini, Kundali Bhagya, and Bepanah Pyar.

Her popularity soared after appearing as a finalist on Bigg Boss 13 (2019–2020). Transitioning to films, she played the female lead Ginni in the Punjabi movie LehmberGinni (2023) and starred as Ratna in Raduaa Returns (2024). She also featured in the web series Bajao (2023) as Sonal and has appeared in over 50 music videos.
