Khushi Kapoor who is daughter of late actress Sridevi and producer Boney Kapoor, shared a new photo on Instagram with the caption, “First of the season 🥳🤍.” The young actress looked beautiful in a shimmery pastel saree decorated with pearls and delicate embroidery. The elegant dress featured a matching blouse with long sleeves and soft beadwork.
While Khushi’s photo won hearts, her name has also been trending for another reason. A recent video of her father, filmmaker Boney Kapoor, resurfaced online. In the clip, Boney proudly said that Khushi got admission to the prestigious New York Film Academy on a scholarship. He mentioned that he didn’t have to pay any fees because Khushi had been selected through an acting audition. However, the statement led to mixed reactions on social media, with several users questioning the claim.
Many online users expressed disbelief, pointing to Khushi’s recent OTT film Nadaaniyan that failed to impress audiences. Trolls commented that her acting skills still need improvement and joked about how the scholarship might have been given. Some even made unkind remarks comparing her to her legendary mother Sridevi, saying that expectations are naturally high.
Despite the online criticism, Khushi continues to stay positive and focused on her career. She made her Bollywood debut in The Archies (2023), followed by Loveyapa with Junaid Khan and Nadaaniyan alongside Ibrahim Ali Khan. Though her recent projects received mixed responses, critics noted her growing confidence and screen presence.
In a recent conversation with Filmfare, Khushi said she wishes to explore more serious and emotional roles in the future. She expressed her desire to work on films that tell meaningful stories and allow her to play deep, flawed characters.
