The actress known for her strong screen presence continues to make waves in both Tollywood and Kollywood while staying true to her passion for meaningful roles.
Deviyani Sharma recently shared a captivating photo on her Instagram profile with the caption, “I’m my own boss 😇.” In the picture, Deviyani is seen sitting gracefully on a velvet chair, dressed in a sheer black dress that gives off a classy vibe. She holds her sunglasses with confidence.
Deviyani Sharma, who started her career in Telugu cinema, is now stepping into Tamil films. In a recent interview, she shared her excitement about making her Tamil debut in a film directed by Mohan. Interestingly, the director remembered her from an earlier audition and offered her a significant role in the sequel. She will be seen playing the role of a queen paired opposite the antagonist.
Talking about this experience, Deviyani mentioned that she always dreamed of playing a queen’s role. She said, “When you get to wear beautiful costumes and jewellery and ride a horse, you really feel like a queen.” The actress, originally from Delhi, admitted that learning the Tamil language was initially challenging, but with the help of her tutor and her director’s guidance, she is getting more comfortable with it.
Deviyani is known for being selective about her projects. She believes that performance-oriented roles bring out the best in an actor. “If you’re in a film with a big star cast but have nothing to do, it doesn’t make sense because it’s not adding any value,” she explained. She wants her roles to have substance and emotional depth.
Before her official Tamil debut, Deviyani had a small background role in 3 (2012), directed by Aishwarya Rajinikanth, starring Dhanush and Shruti Haasan. She recalled that even then, she was eager to learn about the craft of filmmaking.
