Chaithra J Achar believes in seeking validation for her work, not for her personal life choices. This approach helps her stay unaffected by recent online trolling. The criticism began after she posted a picture of herself in jeans where part of a thong was visible. One comment that spread widely suggested actors take up such photoshoots when they have no work.

She recalled an early career incident that stayed with her. “About four years ago, I wore a risqué gown to a film award function. The kind of comments I received were brutal. I remember waking up in the middle of the night to check what new hate had landed on my wall. It deeply affected me at the time I shudder to think how much space it took up in my mind. But thankfully, I had the right kind of people around me, who helped me snap out of it. That was the last time I let trolls get to me,” she said. Chaithra added that she was raised to see the good in people and was taught both tradition and freedom. She explained that cultural roots and expressive style can go hand in hand.
