The award was presented to Balakrishna at a special ceremony held in Hyderabad on Saturday, with notable figures including Union Minister Bandi Sanjay and Andhra Pradesh Minister Nara Lokesh attending the event. During his speech, Minister Lokesh talked about the legendary status of Balakrishna in both the film and political spheres remarking that only Balakrishna could write and rewrite history.
Lokesh fondly referred to Balakrishna as his "beloved uncle," highlighting his remarkable 50-year journey in the film industry and his substantial influence in politics. He praised Balakrishna's energy, saying, "He is always young and energetic. With over 110 films in his career, he has made a significant mark in various genres, including historical, folk, spiritual, and science fiction."
Balakrishna’s films have broken records, with one movie running for a staggering 1000 days in theaters. Minister Lokesh also noted that Balakrishna's presence in the Telugu film industry is irreplaceable, and he has become a cultural icon for both his on-screen charisma and off-screen humanity, as demonstrated by his philanthropic efforts through the Basavatarakam Cancer Hospital.
