Avantika recently shared a warm and playful picture on Instagram that instantly caught everyone’s attention. In the photo, she is standing casually in a cosy kitchen by wearing a cute white dress decorated with small doll-like figures.

In her caption, Avantika wrote, “Men belong in the kitchen too, don't get me wrong.” She also added that the picture was “3/3 with my beloveds” and mentioned the team behind her Anaferf and her hair styles by Davey while make up is by Kylesheehan.

While this soft and stylish photo shows a calm moment, Avantika’s personal story is much deeper. In an interview, she opened up about growing up in California and how difficult her school years were. She shared that she was bullied for being brown, which pushed her to leave regular school and choose homeschooling for many years.

She explained that the bullying often came from other children of colour, who made fun of her for bringing home-cooked idli and sambar in her lunch box. These experiences changed the way she viewed school and made her feel unsupported by the teachers around her.

Avantika also shared that when she later returned to formal high school at Granada Hills Charter, she finally found teachers who supported her. These teachers would sit with her after school, explain the same physics problem again and again, and encourage her even when she cried out of frustration. She said these teachers helped her chase better grades while she continued flying out for auditions, proving that the right mentor can shape a student’s dreams.
