A former software engineer who left her job at Infosys to pursue acting, Ananya Nagalla made her film debut with the critically acclaimed Telugu biographical drama Mallesham (2019), playing Padma opposite Priyadarshi. She gained wider recognition with notable roles in Play Back (2021), Vakeel Saab (2021) alongside Pawan Kalyan, and Shaakuntalam (2023). Her powerful performance in the web series Bahishkarana further boosted her popularity.

Ananya has been consistently working across Telugu cinema with films like Pottel (2024) and Srikakulam Sherlock Holmes (2024). Her upcoming projects include Lechindi Mahila Lokam (March 26, 2026) and SYG - Sambarala Yeti Gattu (May 28, 2026). She is also set to make her much-awaited Bollywood debut in a female-centric Hindi film (reportedly titled Kaanta or Nayika Pradham), directed by Rakesh Jaggi, where she will play a Gujarat tribal girl.
