Aamna Sharif was born to an Indian father and a Persian Bahraini mother. She grew up in Mumbai, Maharashtra. She followed Islam before marriage, but she accepted Hinduism in 2013 after marrying Amit Kapoor. However, she still uses Sharif as her surname. Her husband Amit Kapoor was earlier a distributor and later became a film producer. The couple welcomed their son in 2015 and named him Arain Kapoor.

Aamna Sharif is widely popular as a television actress. She began her journey in music videos. She first appeared in Kumar Sanu’s song “Dil Ka Aalam” in 2001. Later, she featured in many songs like “Chalne Lagi Hain Hawayein” and “Yeh Kisne Jaadu Kiya.” She also acted in a Tamil movie called Jjunction. She became a household name when she played Kashish in Kahiin To Hoga. Later, she gained recognition as Komolika in Kasautii Zindagii Kay 2. She also acted in films such as Ek Villain, Aloo Chaat, Aao Wish Karein, and Shakal Pe Mat Ja.
